Bullshit 2.0 - Propaganda for Generation Me
March 1, 2008
Yet another Bullshit 2.0 presentation (via Bertrand Duperrin).
I used to be kinda okay with this sort of Armanoesque material. But I just can’t anymore : I just find this type of presentations disgusting.
Here is the pitch : there is this emergence of Enterprise 2.0 tools that transform the way we work in the company. These are natural tools for the digital natives but not so natural for the baby boomers. The generation in between (it doesn’t say but I would think 35 - 45) are the knowledge workers 2.0 (blimey !) who can link the two generations together. Innovation … blah blah … collaborative work … blah blah … bullshit … blah blah

It’s that time again : when, running out of ideas and/or time, Heavy Mental multi-twitters.
On the (pretty geeky) menu : high scalability, graduating Vs startuping, Web 2.0 Noise, OS/360 Tar Pit and a rock solid business model there for the taking : God Bless HTTP !
Scrum, Agile, XP and the real life
August 28, 2007
I mentionned it earlier : I have joined the techiteasy.org mob. This is a bunch of passionated and motivated young professionnals blogging collaboratively on the IT world, the internet culture and entrepreneurship.
Scrum and XP from the trenches
I have just posted my first contribution : this is about the Henrik Kniberg e-book : Scrum and XP from the Trenches. I was kinda procrastinating about this book for a while but then Fred strongly recommended me the read.
I had the opportunity of managing a team of server side developers in the mobile industry and this post is about applying these agile methodologies during that time.
Blogroll Underground
August 22, 2007
Mack Collier from the viralgarden did something similar a while back : kick-off a meme to promote unsung bloggers.
So here is the deal : list and describe about 10 out of your blogroll, do a quick description and pingback the one that referenced your blog. Please no Seth Godin, Loic Le Meur or Stairway to Heaven here. I dont think they need any reference.

‘right : writing a blog is cool. But there are some rumours around that writing a blog that some people end up reading is kinda cooler.
So tired with having an average of 8 views per blog post I’ve decided to roll up my sleeves and dig into the subject. Believe it or not a few people decided to study the issue before me. Honest.
So here I come, SEO (Search Engine Optimization).
Nos métiers électroniques 2.0 - Présentation
August 3, 2007

Read the rest of this entry »

Good Idea indeed
There are a couple of apps around offering services for you to measure how 2.0 / geek / marketable you and your blog are. Back to Sociometry again !
Thanks to badideaindeed for somehow starting up this Rate Me meme : Philippe gives this WebSideGrader link that allow you to grade how efficient your site is from a marketing perspective. Read the rest of this entry »
Myspacing the Blogosphere
June 15, 2007

You probably have noticed this blue box with avatars in it appearing on your favorite blogs for the last few months. At first you don’t notice this kind of widgets. Then you look a little bit what it’s all about. And then you join the community, which I did eventually.
This blog is not to describe what this service is : people did it months ago (an eternity) in a much better way than I could now. Rather, this post attempts to describe why this is an extremely clever Web 2.0 application. Read the rest of this entry »

Common + Technical
In the early 90s when I started my carreer as an IT professionnal, there was in France this very popular stand-up comedy trio called Les Inconnus (the Unknown - wish they actually were). They had this rather stupid story about software engineers (in-gé-nieur in-for-ma-ti-cieeeeen) which had the whole country laughing. People was laughing with this story because :
- IT job is very common and technical, both adjectives being abuse in France
- the IT professional character was depicted as an autistic guy looking clumsy and uncomfortable about everywhere but in front of a PC : uncool as hell. Read the rest of this entry »

Pumpkin
In the amazing and weirdo Maxinquaye album (a must have, in my personal 90s TOP10) by one hit wonder Tricky , there was this brilliant duet with Alison Goldfrapp : the track name is Pumpkin It’s a bit of a sticky and suffocating 6/4 ballad based on a Smashing Pumpkins sample (hence the title). In this song, Tricky, with his usual psychopath whispering voice goes “MTV moves so fast, I refuse to understand“. Read the rest of this entry »
